What Makes You Different?

"Happy. I love you!"
She heard those words every morning.
He wasn't the only one.
She had every man on the island at her feet.
What made him different?:
She loved him, too.

"Why the native boy?" asked her parents.
"He's different." She would say.
"He's dangerous." They would argue.
"Every man is dangerous." She would end the conversation.

"But I love you, too." Denny pleaded.
"Lanna loves you, Denny. I don't." She reasoned.

"I thought we could be together..." Elliot cried.
"What would Julia think?" She said, and walked away.

"Our combined cooking powers could have enslaved the world!!!" Pierre screamed.
"Pierre, don't be such a nut." She punched his shoulder. "Natalie's my best friend."

"Hmph." Vaughan sighed.
"Sabrina needs you." She looked...remorseful.

Mark. She'd forgotten about him.
"Good thing we're just friends." He said.
They fist-pounded.

"You are...special." Shea said.
She laid her head on his shoulder.
"Maybe too special, I think." She replied.
"No. Never." He kissed her head.
